Date Night!

Weeeellllll, we finally gave in and went to see Avatar....more about that in a minute.

First...we stepped out for a bite in oldtown Folsom at Chicago Fire Pizza where they have the most delicious wine, salad and deep dish veggie pizza EVER. Plus they get extra credit for rosy red lighting and ambience...and just enough time while you wait to make lists of your favorite films of all time.

ahhh, content...

And then on to our 3D experience of Avatar.
This was my first time watching a movie in 3D, not joking. It was way cool, almost felt annoying at first, but i got over that real quick once i was out in that crazy amazing forest!
We met our friends there and Darin was one of many who had to wear his 3D glasses over his normal ones. Cause we're just bookish like that.

And even after all the hype, and despite the fact that I loathe CGI movies and most action-packed science fiction crap, i will admit to you flat out that I LOVED IT! tears were streaming down my face. it really got to me, despite its obvious mainstream appeal. i was transported and there are so many details i adored but i don't want to spoil it for you if you haven't seen it yet!

as Em said, I want to be Na'vi!

(oh, and p.s. Em and I also saw It's Complicated last night and that wasn't too damn shabby either. in a much more silly and ridiculous chick-flick way of course.)

Guess I will be the last one to see it and I have no problem waiting for it to come to my dollar movie. I'm glad you liked it, I'm sure I will too. Love you xo
but i have to admit amy, i wish you could see it 3D! that was my first time seeing a movie in 3D and it was mind-blowing. i was such a dork, at one point there was like a little burning ember falling and my hand went up to brush it away!

I loved it too, despite any hesitation I felt about it beforehand!

I also loved hearing my AP biology teacher go on about how cool she thought it was. That made me really happy! (She also has a cut out of Captain Picard from Star Trek in the back of the classroom... Hahah!)
