Summertime and All the World's a Stage
Summer is flowing like mad over here.
We completed our backyard theatre playhouse and it is the set for episode 5 of Epic Dust.
I am directing, with a lot of help from Darin, and it is titled "The Garden of Love" based on the Blake poem. Filmed like a play, this episode includes a brothel, muckraking, murder, and a hanging scene. More about that later!
Meanwhile our backyard has been the scene of much summer fun.
Barbecues, film shoots, gardening, sunbathing, picnics, rehearsals, swinging, splashing.
Emily recently thrifted and gifted me the perfect summer sundress. Criss cross back, cool cottony fabric, pink tropical floral, big swirly skirt, and of course POCKETS. i'm in love.
look at chelsea's summer salad! pure delicious, plus she is wearing the cutest embroidered folk dress she got from etsy for super cheap cause the little people supposedly have weird faces; ha!
the bbq was to celebrate our friend Aaragon's birthday and his lady Nicole made the most perfect handcrafted chocolate port cake. i scarfed.
next night our friend phil played music in the courtyard downtown, with candles and vines crawling up brick walls and wine and dreamy romantic shadows.
oliver reeeeaaaally wanted to try his mama's gelato!
i felt frisky in my new pink dress.
friends and family came out in droves :)
plus a meet up with old friends at karaoke later that night...
and the very next day matt and amy and the kids arrived from utah in a rental car after their own car broke down. so now i am surrounded by my whole family...loud, wild, and fun...couldn't be happier!
my three brothers being total dorks in my kitchen :)
and of course a bit of summer nightswimming...
starting filming for Garden of Love; it's a family affair.
here's a sneak peak at some characters:
and this was only the weekend! last night we filmed the illustrious brothel scene, with much enthusiasm from several uninhibited young ladies. oooodeallally! what a night. more on that in my next post.
what with all the summer action, as good as it sounds there isn't a quiet homebody moment in sight.
hope you are all having fun and feeling frisky out there!

which I need to bust out on our next really hot day I think! Loving all your hair piled atop your head like this too :)
Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your directorial labor! I think I caught a peak on fb of a picture from the brothel filming, ooh la la!
Oh, and I can not wait to see more of your play images.
That pic of our bros is my fave thing I've seen.
(So glad you had a spiritual experience in Tree of Life as well. I can't even comprehend the goodness of the film. I'm really quite impressed and in love)
Miss my babes already, it was so fun to see them. It's hard to think their home is Utah, so far away. You make good old Placerville seem so fun!!! Isn't Phil so talented?! You all are!, Love your postings, i love you honey, Marmie.,
