Grateful, Cozy ...

around these parts, we were especially grateful to spend this one last thanksgiving with old Cream Puff.

we knew his time was near. but he was cozy by the fire and we each took turns snuggling him.
he loves having lots of people around, so i'm sure he thought we were throwing him one last party.

also, i was so grateful to be surrounded by my family. they are so fun, sweet, wise, talkative, and rad.
everyone shared the cooking, we had two tofurkeys and tons of root veggies and stayed up late watching Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

it was a perfect celebration of home, family, food and love.

cream puff died this morning, peacefully at home.
we will miss him dreadfully but mostly, we are so thankful for his long and extraordinarily full life and our wonderful times with him.

Oh Cream Puff. I hope you are scratching up all the chairs and couches you want in kitty heaven. There is no lunch or dinner. Just an endless supply of milk and kitty treats. Every cat has their own barn with at least 25 mice running from them at all times. Enjoy the endless petting and scratching you will receive from the kitty angels, cuz you know they are the best!! Enjoy Cream Puff!
Happy Thanksgiving

i'm glad you were with lots of people you love as you said good bye to cream puff. even with the perfect circumstances, it's still so sad to say good-bye.

Awww, my heart goes out to you. I'm glad that you got the opportunity to have him go peacefully at home, I know how much that can mean. Still sad though for old Mr. Cream Puff, he was so adorable. I know he'll be missed :)

aw honey! i just now read this post. dear old soul, dear cream puff, blessings as you release from your bones. as you work your way through the ephemeral, i am so glad you have the soaring strength of heather. the love she gave you being a beacon of remembrance, may you let go of what you were and remember what you ARE.
may all the love from all that knew you favor you on your next journey.

what a gift that he had a good death, and what a blessing that both you and he were held in so much grace, gratitude and connection on his last day. i wish for that same grace to be your tiny boat through any grief, be it hard or soft. love to you, sweet mother of cats and all small beings. xo
